There are support services available locally that can help children and young people that have been affected by domestic abuse and/or sexual violence.

Leicester City

In Leicester City services are available for children and young people, from 0 to 18 years of age, who are or have been:

  • witnessing abuse in the family home
  • abused by a boyfriend or girlfriend
  • abused by a family member
  • sexual abused by anyone, including strangers
  • using violence in your relationships

 

Leicestershire and Rutland

Outside of the City, in Leicestershire and Rutland, services are available for young people aged 13 and over, who are have been:

  • abused by a boyfriend or girlfriend
  • abused by a family member
  • sexual abused by anyone, including strangers

 

All the services in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland are provided by an organisation called United Against Violence and Abuse (UAVA).  They can listen to you, help you to understand what has, or is still happening, and help you to get safe.
